July 25th

With the new fuel line installed on the motorcycle, I’ve continued my trip. I’m now camping near Thompson Falls, Montana. Lots of miles traveled since Denver, and below is a summary from all that.
My camp near Thompson Falls, MT. The hills in the background were recently burned, and there’s a stream behind the bushes which the fire didn’t cross.
Fires to the west filled the sky here with smoke.

Here’s how I got here..

Leaving the Denver area I first went to visit Boulder and a couple of my kid year places, like my elementary school,
and the big NCAR hill we used to ride our bikes up.
Cruised over Berthoud pass, where I chatted with a guy who was hiking the Continental Divide Trail.
Ended the day at Hot Sulfur Springs, CO.
On to Rocky Mountain National Park.
Trail Ridge Road on a motorcycle! šŸ™‚
Saw some moose there.
Visited my cousins Cindy, Jenny, Dave and their doggies for a day of rest.

Shaved off my beard again, then on to Steamboat Springs, Craig CO, and northwest into Utah and Wyoming.

Colorado HWY 318 into Utah. Was supposed to have tens of miles of dirt road. But it didn’t thanks(?) to the fraking industry in this area.
Camping along there Green River, near John Jarvie Historic Ranch in the NE corner of Utah.
Had some of the clearest skies (from smoke) here.
Drove south around Flaming Gorge, before heading north up to Wyoming. Stayed the night in Manila, UT.
Wyoming! And on to the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone parks.
First through Afton, WY.
Camped just south of the Tetons.
Arrived just in time for Old Faithful!

Left the park by way of West Yellowstone, Montana.

A view from Butte, MT.

Then camping near Thomson Falls, MT.
